WIN 8 Final Release boots straight to 'Metro' Start Screen

If you haven't heard already, leaked final versions of Microsoft's latest OS, Windows 8, shows that users can no longer boot their PC directly to the Desktop.  Instead, you will be directed Microsoft 'Metro' Start Screen.  (The name Metro, however, will no longer be used by Microsoft.  It has yet to be determined what Microsoft will call the new start screen GUI)

In previous builds of WIN 8, users could create a shortcut that switches to the Windows 8 Desktop when a user logged onto Windows 8.  Not only does this affect the consumer, but also business users, who aren't keen on it because they are convinced that Metro will be a nuisance, especially on non-touch-enabled hardware, especially given they plan to line primarily in the Desktop app on Windows 8.

There are some keyboard shortcuts to get to the desktop: Windows + D, Windows + B and Windows + M.  Nonetheless, you won't be able to bypass this on the final release of WIN 8 that is schedule to be released to the public for $39.99 for  Professional on October 26th.

Do you think not being able to boot straight to the desktop changes your mind about upgrading to Windows 8?
