Yahoo Servers Breached: Let off with a warning...

Yahoo servers were hacked earlier this week and about 400,000 accounts were affected and were later displayed on the web.  But they were soon taken off the web.  The site were the information was taken off, it didn't just have Yahoo's accounts...there were Gmail, AOL, Hotmail, Verizon and other log in information that was posted on that same site.

However, this breach was just to show Yahoo how poor their security was.  The hackers responsible had this to say:

We hope that the parties responsible for managing the security of this subdomain will take this as a wake-up call, and not as a threat. There have been many security holes exploited in Web servers belonging to Yahoo Inc. that have caused far greater damage than our disclosure. Please do not take them lightly. The subdomain and vulnerable parameters have not been posted to avoid further damage.

Yahoo at this time has confirm the breach and is currently working on a fix and investigating its current security in place.  Yahoo has apologized for this matter and as always, reminds it users to change their passwords accordingly.

LinkedIn, then Sony and now Yahoo...who's next?
