iPad Mini: What the Internet Knows So Far

Back in September, I posted an article about leaked images of the new iPad Mini casing.  It was rumored the new iPad Mini will be announced after the iPhone 5 in September.  That later transition to October 10th. But October 10th has come and go, and no iPad Mini.  Well, now AllThingsD says that Apple is to launch the iPad Mini at October 23rd event.

Beyond the date and knowing it's an invite-only event, there isn't much details.  According to AllThingsD, it's sources declined to tell where the event will be held.

As far as specifications of the new iPad Mini, this is what the internet knows so far:
*7.85-inch iPad
*Ultra-thin Design
*Lightning dock connector
*Front and rear camears
*4:3 1024x768 w/ 163ppi (like the iPad 1 & 2) Probably to reduce cost of the Mini
*Possible Retina Display 2048x1536 w/ 326 ppi
*Price anywhere between $199 and $399 (current iPad 2 price).  Apple's iPod Touch also falls in this price range, so that could prove to be a dilemma for both Apple and their customers.

The 23rd is approaching soon, so it won't be long until we find out!
