Wii U:
Nintendo had a UStream event earlier this morning that announced more details concerning the new Wii U. It also sow Nintendo's CEO, Iwata-san unboxing his own console! Some of the features announced were:
*Multiple Users: The Wii U can have up to 12 register user accounts
*Microphone & Karaoke: Revealed that a standalone microphone accessory is also on its way (the GamePad already packs a built-in mic), with the new peripheral pitched at karaoke fans in its homeland and its new Karaoke service. With the Karaoke app, you'll be able to perform over 90,000 songs, with users paying a subscription rate to access the full back-catalog. No word on US release.
*Wii U Chat: With streaming video and audio -- and a little bit of art -- done through the GamePad's touchscreen. Users will be notified of incoming calls through the home button.
PlayStation:
The PlayStation Magazine will soon be a thing of the past. The last issue to be published will be their Holiday Edition, but after that, it's farewell. No details whether they will go all digital online. If you recall, Nintendo Power Magazine also decided to retire back in August of this year; also ending with their Holiday Edition.
Xbox:
Xbox SmartGlass App released for iOS. This replaces the My Xbox Live App and works on iPod, iPhone and iPad with iOS 5.0.
Xbox SmartGlass lets you:
• Navigate your Xbox 360 with swipe and tap
• Use your phone’s keyboard to type to your Xbox 360
• Browse the Internet on your Xbox 360 with full keyboard and zooming
• Play, pause, fast forward, rewind, and stop videos and music on your Xbox 360
• Search the full Xbox catalog of music, video, and games
• Enjoy rich, interactive experiences from select game and entertainment content creators
• Track and compare your achievements with your Xbox friends
• Change up your 3D avatar
• Message your Xbox friends
• Edit your Xbox profile
And if you didn't know, theirs also an Android version available as well.
